We're half way through the thirty day thrive challenge!! This is a great time to reflect on our progress. In the last two weeks what have you done to thrive? I know I've had a couple of bumps in the road, but overall I'm pleased that I've been able to place so many drops of awesomeness in my bucket! I'm not a perfect mom or wife, but we've had some great moments along the way. In our family we've played, worked, and laughed together. We've tilled gardens, had towel fights, made cookies, sung songs, and played games. We've read books together and worshiped together. In all, I need to pause and be grateful for 14 wonderful opportunities to live another day with those that I love and try to reach out and serve others. This morning while driving to work I heard the song "Day 1" from Matthew West and it reminded me that wherever we are on the journey to thrive, we can begin again today as if it were day 1. So what if the last 14 days didn't go as well as hoped? As Anne Shirley reminds us in Anne of Green Gables, "Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it." Start fresh. Start new. Learn from the past but don't dwell in it. (Was that from the Lion King?) Use this opportunity that we've been given to start again and thrive! |
